Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) certified

Fed up with being out driven? When you hit your driver does it feel like you are just not gaining enough distance? Want more yardage in your game? Most people go and buy a new driver, or hit a dozen-plus buckets at the range and expect progress, when really you have everything you need already, you just need to know how to access it! Your power is limited due to your lack of flexibility, mobility, and strength.

Titleist Performance Institute screening is a proven system utilised by over 90% of tour players. TPI is the world’s leading educational organisation dedicated to the study of how the human body functions in relation to the golf swing. Phil Mickelson credits TPI for his Major win in 2021 and being able to elongate his career.

To achieve an efficient swing, a golfer must first be screened. A full screening involves an assessment of swing mechanics and biomechanics, physical fitness, movement quality, current health and a client history. Once this screening is finished the results are used to create a plan unique for that golfer.

An average screening will last between 45 minutes to 2 hours. A TPI screening assesses a Golfers inability to swing at maximum efficiency. Once the biomechanical limitations are identified through the screening, the TPI moves on to the next stage where we address your limitations, with exercises specifically designed for flexibility, mobility and strength. After years of research and development TPI have produced a catalog of exercises specific to Golf, which is part of a tour players regime.

I am a TPI certified instructor and Yoga for Golfers teacher (see Yoga for Golfers link). My aim is to enable you to increase your physical movement ability which will ultimately improve your swing. TPI believes in the importance of the collaboration of the Golf professional, Physiotherapist (Medical Professional) and Personal trainer to give the ultimate support to the client as required. This focuses on the Technical aspect of the golf swing (looked at by the Golf professional), the physical biomechanical aspect of the golf swing (looked at by the Medical professional) and the strength and conditioning aspect (Personal trainer / S&C coach). Collectively, empowering the Golf player to get maximum benefit from their game whether amateur or professional tour player.

“Golf is deceptively simple and endlessly complicated; it satisfies the soul and frustrates the intellect. It is at the same time rewarding and maddening – and it is without a doubt the greatest game mankind has ever invented”
