Heather Foley
holistic therapist
“I look at the bigger picture for you as an individual and seek to identify and work on the real root causes behind any issues. I look forward to working with you.“

How I work
I have spent decades researching a wide variety of techniques, covering healing on all levels: physical, mental, emotional, and energetic.
As a former international tetrathlete (running, swimming, equestrian, shooting) I have experienced sport at high level. However through horse riding I suffered multiple traumatic brain injuries, which started me on a path of constant exploration and testing.
That's why you can be assured that I have personally tested every method that I use with clients, and continue to use them in my own daily practice. I will not use any technique that I have not already proven to be beneficial on my own health journey.

~ Maori proverb
My approach is truly holistic.
I look at and treat the whole person and select the appropriate treatments from a wide range of techniques.
physiotherapy
& personal training
Having qualified to degree level in physiotherapy in 2008, I have worked as a professional physiotherapist for the NHS and British armed forces. I take an integrated approach to address the whole person in my body work, using treatments, exercises, stretching, and other therapies as required.

I have experienced lower back pain for the last 12 years. NO LONGER!!!! Heather’s professional analysis, direction and exercise programme has me back playing golf only 4 months after her diagnosis. I AM ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTED!
reiki
& acupuncture
Both originating in the East, reiki and acupuncture have become very popular with Western practitioners due to their effectiveness and broad application. Both techniques work with natural energy (life force or "qi") to remove blockages and to support healthy flow. Acupuncture works by inserting very fine needles just into the skin, while reiki is a gentler form of hands-on healing.

I had damaged my knee and was there for a week in a golf competition and looking like not being able to play..after some intense work with massage and needles I was able to get through the whole week with Heather strapping my knee every day..so lucky she was there…every golf club needs a Heather! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her.
emotional freedom technique, breathwork
& relaxation
Everything is energy, and experience has taught me that it is really impossible to separate the rhythms of our breath, and even the patterns of our thinking, from the physical symptoms we may experience. That's why I have learned to work on achieving balance from every angle using whatever tools work best.

Working with Heather for just a few weeks helped me to reconnect my breathing, my body, and my mind, leading to a more profound experience of relaxation. Heather has a remarkable talent to make you feel like you're seen. She cuts right through to the core of an issue and seems to find just the right exercise. I couldn't recommend her highly enough.
diet
& nutrition
I have 15 years of direct experience as a researcher in nutrition, driven my the multiple physical and mental health challenges I have faced. I am able to advise on the proper, safe use of dietary intervention to suit physiological and mental health, including autoimmune and other chronic conditions.

“I have zero cravings!” is something I never thought I'd say in my lifetime. My addiction to chocolate, coffee and ice cream has been a constant battle throughout my adult life. Now, thanks to Heather, I can honestly say "I have zero cravings!”
Her deep understanding of the human body, diet and holistic care makes her a compassionate and knowledgeable coach. She has changed my approach to food and my understanding of my body completely.
Thank you, Heather. I wouldn't have done this without your guidance!
yoga classes
To me, yoga offers far more than flexibility, but is a complete system for body, mind, and spirit. The discipline helps us to reconnect our whole selves and to allow energy to flow more freely.
I am qualified to teach both Ashtanga and Vinyasa flow yoga. I currently teach several live group classes every week locally (Moray, Scotland). I have also run groups specifically for both golfers and cyclists, which focus on the precise physiological demands of those pursuits.
